Click the “View” button to read the book. Once it’s finished spinning, your converted book is ready. The little icon in the bottom right corner will start spinning. Ignore all the options for now and click “OK”. ![]() Just select the book you want to convert then click the “Convert books” button. When first running calibre, the Welcome wizard starts and will set up calibre for your reader device. ![]() In order to do that you’ll have to convert the book to a format your reader understands. Once you’ve admired the list of books you just added to your heart’s content, you’ll probably want to read one. Once you’ve added the books, they will show up in the main view looking something like this: Drag and drop a few e-book files into calibre, or click the “Add books” button and browse for the e-books you want to work with. What do you do now? Before calibre can do anything with your e-books, it first has to know about them. It is cross platform, running on Linux, Windows and macOS. It can download newspapers and convert them into e-books for convenient reading. It can go out to the Internet and fetch metadata for your books. It can also talk to many e-book reader devices. It can view, convert and catalog e-books in most of the major e-book formats. This will open a drop-down menu with a list of options, from which we select “Export or import all Calibre data “.Calibre is an e-book library manager. To do this, we are going to click on the “Calibre Library” icon that we find in its upper toolbar. ![]() In this way, we can keep all our content safe and prevent it from being lost. This popular e-book manager has a function that allows, on the one hand, the export of all the content and, on the other hand, the import of these, so it can be very useful for making backup copies. Once again the three available options will appear, so we select “Move the current library to the new location” and click “OK”. Later, click on the “Calibre Library” button and on the “Change or create library” option. In this case we select the path of the device where we have saved it before. This makes it a bit difficult for us to find these functions. Despite being one of the best applications in terms of book management, the truth is that it is still not as intuitive as it should be. And it is that, among the functions of Calibre, we will find this possibility, although it is quite possible that we do not know it.
